Delicious Street Food In Rome

Gambar
One of my main aims when I visited Rome was to find some fabulous 'cibo di strada' (street food) to share with you on here, and wow I found a gem! Supplizio is a little shop specialising in 'suppli' - Italian snacks that are native to Rome. They're normally eaten as starters before pizza, but I find they're a cheap and delicious replacement for lunch. The sajian is written on a chalkboard on the wall behind the bar, and as you can see suppli dominates here, but why would you want anything else when they're so delicious! So what are they I hear you ask? Fried balls of rice with several varieties of lezat fillings such as ragu, and cheese & pepper - it's hard to decide what to go for!  I tried the classico and the carbonara and they were both just yummy! I also had a generously poured glass of beautiful Lazio wine and it was one of my favourite meals in Rome...sometimes the simple things can be the most delicious! There isn'...

Flashback Friday: San Sebastian

Gambar
The Concha beach in San Sebastian stands right in the centre of the city, and is considered to be one of the best city beaches in Europe. On one side, you'll find the Urgull mountain, and on the other is the Igueldo mountain. The beach is huge, and a great place for a lovely coastline walk. If you're going to visit, you'll need a place to stay....and why not make it a glamorous one? The Astoria 7 is full of proper Hollywood glamour - why? Well why click  here  to flashback to to see my original post to find out!

It's been full of highs and lows, as every year seems to be but I have wonderful memories to look back on, and am very excited about the year ahead. Have a wonderful Hogmanay when it comes, and I hope you have plenty of travel plans to look forward to in 2018. If you haven't quite got round to that yet, then watch this space for more travel inspiration in the weeks and months to come!  Happy New Year, and all the best to you and yours for 2018 xx

One Of The Best Cities For 2018

Gambar
A new year, and a time for new ideas. Boise Idaho has been named as one of the 50 best cities to travel to in 2018. Idaho's capital used to be a popular destination for conventions, but they're now shaking off that tag. Photo courtesy of Idaho Tourism Boise is a perfect place to explore the great outdoors. The Boise river winds through the city; the Rocky Mountains are the backdrop to the city; and if you're there in the winter, skiing is just a short drive away.  Photo courtesy of Idaho Tourism If you're a beer lover, Idaho is number 10 when it comes to beer breweries per capita in the United States, with more than 50 breweries here! If wine is more your thing, Boise is a major hub, with over 50 vineyards in Idaho. Earth Day - Let's Make A Difference

Gambar
The 22nd of April is Earth Day 2018. This environmental movement began in 1970, and has been been bringing conservational issues to the forefront of the minds of the public ever since. This year, they're highlighting an issue that many of us are becoming more aware of - plastic pollution.  When I travel I spend a lot of time by the sea, and I hate to think of the effect that our plastic waste is having on our beaches, streams and landscapes. Let's do our bit to try and make a difference, whether it be ditching a plastic straw in a cocktail whilst on holiday, to refusing a plastic bag and taking your own to the shops. We all want our seas to be as clear and beautiful as the one above....every little move we make could make a big difference.

Merry Christmas And A Happy New Year!
